Excellent point, which reminds me of the story of Cinderella. There are
various sisters and different people have different opinions regarding
WHICH is the best -- but that's another story :-)

What we need is some way to ALSO send Cinderella to the Royal Dance rather
than stuffing her into the kitchen (or dungeon, for that matter).

The "B" in the ABC campaign: BROADCAST. I am 100% behind Glenn's philosophy.

I join Glenn in requesting this kind of ammunition from Interex.

Ah... The good-old "Golf Digest" thread :-)

Can HP's PR department help by providing an "in" into these publications?
They won't even talk to lowly programmers or systems analysts :-(

On this subject, I will have a little surprise in a couple of moons (pun
intended).

I spent a pleasant time in New York last week, working on something that
will provide an important step towards spreading the good word about
IMAGE/SQL to a wider audience (way beyond the "installed HP3000 base").

As soon as "the public schedule" becomes available to me (and that's all I
can say now due to heavy NDAs), I'll post the necessary info to HP3000-L so
you can enjoy the little surprise in the comfort of your own home.

Now that I wrote "home", I would like to suggest some additional homework
(besides reading "The Emperor's New Clothes" and "Cinderella). Go out and
rent "Apollo 13" at your favorite video store, paying particular attention
to Gene Kranz's statement, "Failure is not an option". (Is NASA's Gene
Kranz related to Interex's very own Dick Kranz?)

For those who might have missed the significance of Apollo 13, let me quote
from my videotape's back cover:

"Stranded 205000 miles from Earth in a crippled spacecraft,
astronauts Jim Lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert fight a
desperate battle to survive. Meanwhile, at Mission Control,
astronaut Ken Mattingly, flight director Gene Kranz and a heroic
ground crew race against time -- and the odds -- to bring them
home. It's a breathtaking adventure that tells a story of
courage, faith and ingenuity that is all the more remarkable
        because it is true!"
