Bill Brandt is having trouble recycling his old HP equipment. Ed Sharpe
suggests giving it to a school. This would be a community service. Bill
points out that a lot of schools don't want the stuff. So how do you get rid
of the old equipment and do a community service?
Due to their essentially rural nature in many Midwestern states, as part of
their county fairs etc, have cow chip tossing contests. Since California,
even in what used to be mining country like Sierra County, are now
quintessentially high tech. To recycle old computer equipment you can have a
computer chip tossing contest. The entry fees can go to help defray the
recycling costs and the remainder can go to the schools. Everybody wins and
you have fun to boot. ;-)
