For some time now there has been quite a bit of compatibility. To start:

An HP3000 can easily be configured as a TCP/IP node on an NT LAN.
Samba/iX allows NT clients to share parts of the 3000's filespace.
Java/iX and other languages support cross platform client/server
applications.
Apache/iX is an industrial strength web server for your web and intranet
needs.
