Hi all,

Forgive me if I am being dense here but I wondered how others had
handled a particular need. My requirement is to take some existing jobs
that run Quiz reports (to the Line printer) and make a copy of the
report available in the HFS so that users can "attach" using Samba and
load the reports into Monarch (a smart reporting tool - No, not a plug).
The best way that I have found so far, without rewriting the Quiz
reports, is to modify the file equations in the jobs to point to an area
in the HFS accessible to the users and then copying the file to the LP
(they want the hard copy also). The problem is that the formatting gets
dropped and the only way to preserve the page ejects that I have found
is to use the SET NOFORFEED option in Quiz and then specify the
pagelength. This is not very satisfactoty. I don't want to run the jobs
twice and although I can copy the files from the Spooler to the HFS,
this also has problems, namely with spoolfile identification. I am
hoping someone else has a better way to achieve this objective.

TIA,

Cheers,

John Dunlop
