Tony,

As you will (at least I hope so) receive many suggestions, I felt obligated
to
suggest an alternative's besides ODBC. Although there are many ODBC drivers:

ODBC/32
Vendor: Minisoft
http://www.minisoft.com/odbc/ODBC32.htm

DataExpress ODBCLink
Vendor: M.B. Foster
http://www.mbfoster.com

ODBC
Vendor: HP

ODBC
Vendor: Safari ODBC/32.

DISC
Vendor: DISC
http://www.disc.com/home

^ some cheaper than others, some scaling better than others, there are only
a
handful of remote procedure based and message based middleware alternatives.

If your goals include read/write access to MPE data sources, all the while
protecting your investment in pre-existing business logic (i.e. COBOL), and
leveraging this logic over a network from an open list of non MPE
environments such
as Win32 3GL's, Web Servers, Voice Application Software, and others, then
you
might consider a non-ODBC approach.

I cannot speak for all of these, although Premier Software has used OSCAR to
help a variety of customers "open up to the net" the HP3K as the excellent
provider of
transaction's that it is.
