I assume this means I need to re-join Interex?

Sorry, Interex' press release claiming Interex membership supported the
HP/Compaq merger caused me to cancel membership now and forever. I will not
be a part of any organization which lies about what I do and do not support.
I was never polled or consulted in any way by Interex. Yet they claimed they
were speaking in my interests.

The only way I will ever possibly rejoin Interex is if I receive a full and
complete apology concerning this mis-representation. If it had been based on
a legitimate poll or vote, then it would have been OK as "the will of the
majority". But, to have lied and instead implied Interex membership
supported the merger, when in fact the Interex board can not have possibly
known this because they did not ask the membership, was completely
unacceptable.

My feelings in this matter have only been confirmed by Interex' banning of
press at HP World. I will not be part of any organization which restricts
the objective freedom of the press. Again, as far as I know there has never
been a complete and official apology from the Interex board for this
mistake. The statements from Interex seem to have only blamed the
individuals who made the decision without ever extending an apology from
Interex itself.

If you are an independant consultant or member of a consulting firm and have
not received any news from SIGConsult recently, go to the Interex site and
join if you are interested. Placing your card in the envelope or registering
on the list at the Interex SIGConsult meetings does not automatically place
you in the database. There are new HP certification, marketing, and
education programs available for qualified consultants. To join:
Go to www.interex.org and follow the icons and links as follows,
     Networking Groups -> Special Interest Groups -> Consult -> Electronic
Mail List ->
     Subscribe -> Consult
Fill out the short form with your email address. You may join other SIGs at
the same time. Contact me if you have any questions.
