Tony Summers gives 3 reasons:

> Any reason you don't want to convert them to native mode ? 
> There are two, nay three, advantages

> 1) single file rather than separate file for data and key 
> 2) read/write performance
> 3) the files don't use as much disk space 

I'd like to add a 4th:

4) You'll never again have to run KSAMUTIL with KI to RECOVER after a
crash.
