Dear Listers,
Jeff Kell responded quickly to my plea about the
unknown terminal type hp2392a in the POSIX shell
from anywhere except manager.sys.
He said:

Thanks for the quick reply, Jeff. Unfortunately I tried that
already and it still doesn't work. I even tried chmod 777 on
all files and the directory terminfo! Didn't make a
jot of difference. Read permission sorted the problem
with profile and motd before which is why I thought it
might be permissions.
I can cat the /usr/lib/terminfo/hp2392a from my logon
with no problem but tput and tabs report unknown terminal
hp2392a.
These are the hp2392a files in /usr/lib/terminfo

shell/iX> ls -l hp239*

It has to be something to do with permissions else why
does it work fine from manager.sys?

As per yesterday replies direct as well as to the list
will be appreciated as I get the list in digest overnight.
