Now, Wirt, let's not have any of that fuzzy math or them fuzzy numbers,
here. I said nothing about how many roadside sobriety tests Dubya failed
(apparently, at least one), only how many he had passed (which does
deliberately and in jest imply that there may have been reasons for such
roadside sobriety tests to be administered), compared to how many Gore had
passed.

It was my intention to make fun of both men simultaneously in each joke, as
each digs at both their objects and their speakers equally. But I actually
thought that respondents would either tell me to knock it off, or offer
their own witty and unflattering comparisons.

While Bush's drinking is attested to, and now his (one) college-aged arrest
for drunk driving has come to light, a Frontline special on the two men did
present Al Gore's college roommate at Harvard, who had some interesting
things to say about their habits in those days. However, I do not believe
that in those days, Gore would have been subjected to drug screening or
testing as we now know it, so simply did not get caught.

As Doug and John point out, thirteen times zero (the number of books Dubya
has written to date) is still zero, so while any number therefore would
work, it is technically still true that one is greater than zero. As for how
many Dubya has read, he has admitted that he does not enjoy reading thick
books, whereas Al has a reputation for making himself informed. As for how
many book either man owns, I have no idea. So while on the one hand it digs
at Dubya for not being much of a reader and not having written, it would be
an awfully petty claim for Gore to make.

Greg,

I think you've got these two guys backwards. Either that or you missed
G.W.'s
early history. He's the one with the drunk driving arrest record -- and
threats from Laura that she was going to divorce him if he didn't sober up.

W.
> Bush.

13,000 times would be a closer estimate, I suspect. Real Texans don't read
no
stinkin' books.
