I would issue a word of warning with disconnecting the SCSI DDS's. We did
this many years ago (think we were still on MPE i/X 5.5 at the time), this
actually caused all the subsequent devices to hang. Although it didnt take
down the machine, we had to reboot the system in order to bring the other
DDS units back online.

This may have been resolved since, but thought I would mention it.

As a precaution now, we always take down our system when replacing any of
our DDS devices.
