A couple of news items; these have been reported elsewhere
but I'm sure there will be readers on these lists who haven't
seen one or both of them:

The book which I've been working on for the last 15 months
or so has now been published.  "J2EE and JAX: Developing Web
Applications and Web Services", is available now at bookstores
or online.

Second item: the most recent wave of downsizing at HP left
me without a chair when the music stopped.  I have a resume
online at the site above, and will also have a pile of them
on hand at HPWorld.  Note that my hp.com mail address will
no longer reach me; instead use mike at theyawns dot com.

That seems like enough news for one day.
