Many of you wrote to me about the disappearance of HP3000-L mail today
(Thursday, Nov 20). On Wednesday, there were more than 100 postings to
the list which triggered a sanity check putting the list on "hold". I
have not been closely been monitoring my e-mail lately; our 960 has been
down for 36 hours now due to a power supply failure and waiting for
parts, and other distractions.
At any rate, I apologize for falling asleep at the wheel, but I released
the list "hold" a few minutes ago and 37 pending messages are being
posted as I type.
As you can see, the HP3000-L list, like our faithful 960 which has never
been down for anywhere near this amount of time in 10 years, is also
prone to the occasional failure. As the saying goes, as best as I
remember it, "When I do well, nobody remembers; when I do wrong, nobody
forgets" :-)
In the meantime, HP3000-L is back. I wish I could say the same for our
960.
