John-

1) Make sure he shows up with a Torx set. ;-)
2) Make sure he does not bend any pins on the internal scsi ribbon
cable.
3) SCSI ID 0 on that DDS-3 : all jumpers open

Thanks.
I am trying to avoid having to guide somebody with poor English through
ODE and mapper and back out again. I hope that if they install a new
drive and reboot, and can see the tape part no with same scsi address as
before , it should be good. I will also get them to test reading an old
tape, and writing a new one before tech leaves the scene....

Regards,

John Pitman

Those aren't ldev's that cstm is showing - they're simply numerical
instances.

The scsi address of ldev 7 is defintely 0 - as shown by sysgen and cstm.
