This is at least the second time in the last couple months where I
have forgotten to mention Fastran PC.... I *swear* that slight is not
intentional.... because Fastran is lacking a number of the most
recent enhancements to Transact/iX and does not have anything like
NM Trandebug/iX, guess I tend to categorize it somewhat differently..

But I know people who have used Fastran PC quite successfully for
development..... still, with great respect for Nick and all he has done
for the Transact community, on balance think that for now and for the
next five+ years or so if I wanted to continue to run a Transact system
of any size in production, I would just stock up on what should soon
be some pretty cheap "A" and "N" class boxes. Get them running on
MPE 7.5 before HP end-of-sales in October 2003, and they should be
runable and supportable by 3rd parties for many years after that....

But if Nick could find any way to bring Fastran PC completely in
sync with Transact/iX and provide something like Trandebug/iX, that
would be really slick.... If somebody would just offer him enough $$,
I bet they would do it.... :-)
