2000 pages of output is quite a bite of paper. How do you distribute the
printout, bursting and bundling? Do you print multiple copies? Do you wish
each user could just print what they needed? Are reruns of reports killing
your operations staff?

Is there an easier way?

Yes, choosing the appropriate report management solution can be complicated
without Quest Software's Vista Plus(tm) for MPE.

Vista Plus is a sophisticated report management solution that delivers
instant access to information via e-mail, the LAN, or the Internet,
generating significant savings in shipping, manual distribution, filing,
paper, printer maintenance, and many other labor costs. Vista Plus ads a
report warehouse to any centralized MPE server on your network, delivering a
complete output management solution.

Vista Plus integrates with NBSpool(tm) to effectively manage spool files.
NBSpool(tm) facilitates the movement of the spool files to the central
report warehouse. Viewing reports online with Vista Plus empowers users to
quickly access information. Users can browse through the report, invoke
powerful search utilities, download specific report information to popular
applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel(tm)) and print specific pages.
Delivering a complete output management solution, Vista Plus integrates with
NBSpool(tm) to effectively manage spool files.

The Vista Plus server consists of administration and control programs that
allow the system administrator to add, modify, or delete users, folders,
reports, and security. Once reports are added to this centralized report
warehouse, users throughout the organization can access the warehouse and
view the reports online through a Windows- or character-based viewer.

Subject: Re: Weird network printing problem

Hi,

We blame on operators to reprint 2000 pages MRP report again on D640,
then Later on We found out HP Network printer does not have intelligent like
old HP2680 Page level recovery.

Another HP Hiccup?

Cheers

Hi all -

I'm having a strange problem printing to a networked
Lexmark Optra 2455n printer.  Connection/printing
works, but when a jam occurs, the 3K starts the whole
print job over (the user swears she doesn't power off
the printer to fix the jam). The npconfig options I
have set for this device is:

51     (network_address = 1.192.9.99
        pjl_supported=FALSE
        data_timeout=20
        snmp_enabled=FALSE
        poll_interval_max=120
        jam_recovery=true)

I have the jam recovery option on the printer set to
"auto".  Am I missing anything?

Thanks

PFG
