You are correct about downloading the form to a printer. This is especially
true on a serial connection if you have any graphics in the form such as a
logo. You will see a performance increase versus loading the form for each
print. I have been using the JetForm product for a number of years. They
have hinted that the HP e3000 is not their market but they do still sell the
Print Central for the HP e3000 product. This product allows you great
flexibility in designing your form layout using JFDesign and then printing
using the Print Central (or JFMerge) program.

I have been struggling with a number of problems with a competing product
that makes you code their intrinsics into the program and set other
conditions on the system. The JetForm programs allow you to keep your
standard program that is printing to preprinted forms or change the program
to send only the fields and have it place them on the form.

They have a website at www.jetform.com <http://www.jetform.com> It is
difficult to find the HP e3000 info but the product is very stable and easy
to use. If they have more inquiries maybe they will revitalize their HP
e3000 product line.

A satisfied JetForm customer.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Print Forms from hp3000 to a hp laserjet
printer

I have a need to print a form and the associated data from an HP3000
to a
Laserjet printer via a serial connection.

From what I can determine I need to create the form and download it
to the
printers memory. Then activate it an overlay the form with the
appropriate
        data.

Looking for an input on products, experience, etc.

        Thanks for the help
