Janusz,

  The currently available version of Samba/iX will work under
MPE/iX 5.0 pp6 and up, but I would only use it there for testing
and wait until you're up on 6.0 before you do a lot with it.  There
were a lot of networking and Posix related changes made to the
OS after 5.0 which impact Samba, and you're likely to get frustrated
with it until you upgrade.

Hello to Everyone,

        I'm new to the list, but not to the HP3000. On HP since 1991, mainly COBOL
and BRW, Turbo Image. Prevously 37LX, now 918LX.

        I would like to install SAMBA on my system. Does SAMBA runs on
MPE 5.00 ?  We will be upgrading to MPE 6.00 before the end of year.
 You now Y2K  :).
