While I don't want to start any termulator wars, we have been happy users of
MiniSoft for several years. I have used it's scripting language to
integrate several PC applications into our Cobol/View/Image application
running on the HP3000. We do things like create data files for bar code
labels on the HP3000, download it to the PC, and invoke a PC bar code label
application to print to slaved bar code printers. All from within Cobol
programs running on the HP3000.
Also, MiniSoft is quite a bit cheaper and uses Win95's TCP/IP stack instead
of its own (which is what Reflection required when we looked at it way back
when).
