Hi Jim,
I think you mean device files, which typically reside in /dev
ioscan -nfC class (such as tape) will list all device files for all tape
devices
ioscan -nfH path (where path is the path to the DLT) will list the device
files for the DLT
The n option requests the device files
The f option displays full info about the device (instance, path driver,
etc.)
The H option allows a path to be specified
The C option allows a class to be specified
See http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90681/ioscan.1M.html or issue the 'man
ioscan' command for further info...
Thanks,
Gary

Subject: [HP3000-L] OT: HP-UX Question
I have an HP9000 machine with a DLT autoloader attached to it. I know that
HP-UX uses symbolic links to connect to the tape drive, but how do I find
what that symbolic link is?
Thanks,
Jim
