Given November 14th, what would you say the value is of porting additional
OSS to MPE?

This assumes that the particular OSS in question could offer value on MPE.
Since we have sendmail, as well as other email server offerings, porting
some mailer that almost no one has heard of seems to hold little value.

And, the future that one assumes probably affects this as well. In an
emulated MPE on Linux, if I can also run the OSS software that comes with
the Linux kernel, having that software ported to MPE seems less helpful.
Whereas if OpenMPE succeeds, then OSS on OpenMPE could raise our visibility
in the OSS camps.

What do you think?
