While I'm not an authority on it and haven't had the pleasure of using it, it
is my understanding (from research I did in the past) that you it can call
procedures directly from a linked XL from within the web server code,
allowing great flexibility in performance and session management.  FWIW, I
believe it also uses NETIPC rather than BSD sockets.
