I was made aware this weekend of some tips for running the SETI@home
client under MS Windows:

(1) The SETI 2.0 command line client for NT works just fine on Win95
and Win98. Scrap your screensaver if you really want to crunch
and just run this bad boy in the background. Much faster than
    the GUI version.

(2) Check out SETICache on the 'related links' SETI page

It is an add-on for Windows that will cache 10 work units. If the
client cannot contact SETI@home, it goes on with the next work unit.
It also has offline (just process the 10, never try to connect) and
batch (process the 10, then upload all at once) modes. Works great
for laptops or sometimes just in general when you are having trouble
connecting. Batch up as many as you can, cancel the current one,
and do the "upload/refill" option to send in the finished ones and
get fresh ones. It will pick back up on the one you cancelled.

Team HP3000-L is holding at #77 in the "Clubs" category, being remarkably
stable almost since breaking into the top 100 over six months ago.
