An initial thought says:
   Most of those can probably be replaced by no-op routines (which I'd make
call DEBUG),
   *as long as you don't try to restore any files*, which would allow you
to get a listing of tape contents.

I'll take a longer look at how to replace those in a bit (may be a couple
of days).
