If anyone out there using 'AutoRestart/iX', could you comment on its
merits?. A cursory examination of the manual indicates that in order to
use it one would have to 'dedicate' at least one disk drive to it.

While I don't have much in the way of detail, there is an Australian
manufacturer (Keycorp) of the type of keyboard replacement you refer.
The company has done a lot of work in the Banking industry. If memory
serves me correctly, they have an office in the US.

I, too, have heard of such a beast.  I'm not sure of a vendor, but
KeyTronics makes all sorts of other types of keyboards ...
