The bell is ascii character 7 -- pretty standard
blinks, underlines, half-brights, & inversions are all combinations based on
the following basic escape sequence [from the Reflection manual, "summary of
HP escape sequences" chapter/help topic]
Esc&d<x> Select display enhancement
Esc&ds<x> Display enhancement with security
replace <x> with a letter from "@" through "O" where each of the lower 4
bits represents a different "enhancement"
hex ascii enhancement
==== ===== ==================
40 @ no enhancements (turns off everything)
41 A blink
42 B inverse
44 D underline
48 H half-bright
Combine the bits to make all 16 possibilities, i.e., "C" is inverse
blinking, "G" is underlined inverse blinking, "L" is half-bright underined,
and "O" is everything
