"Legally?"  I suppose this is functionally correct.  After all, look where
tomatoes are imprisoned before they are sold at market to their grim fate.
 They're segregated with their own kind, as well as other flora are!  This
is an injustice.  Vegetables and fruit should be free to associate with
other members of the plant kingdom in their final hours.
