Re: (22 lines)
Hi,
I felt the need to describe my experience. On Saturday I did a very
successful upgrade to a 959/400 here in Cape Town:
1. My tapes all verified OK before I started and I had no problems
during the update process. I put my tapes near the system for at least
one hour before I used them as the computer room temperature was at 16
Deg C.
2. The system was on 5.0, so I did not even check what firmware version
was on the (HPC1504B) SCSI DDS drive. Was your firmware on Rev 10.7?
3. I used the Second Edition manual version (E1096) that I received with
PowerPatch 1 and ':PURGEGROUP [log in to unmask] was the only surprise I can
recall.
4. I plan to provide the customer with patch MPEJX99A to get rid of the
harmless console message: 'The last name component of the pathname does
not exist in the directory / HP Directory message 1'
5. This was the second time I used the new manual. I had some trouble
adjusting to the new format during my first update, but now I feel this
new format works for me.
I hope others have a better time than you.
My condolences!
