Steve,
Your options are limited if you want to stay in the same HP 3000 System
Software Tier. The 928, with a relative performance of 1.4, is actually
in the lower tier 310.
The 947LX is tier 315, the 947RX/SX tier 320.
Tier 330 lists 929KS/020 to 969KS/420 and 968LX/RX.

Management wants to replace a 947 (running at a site not in my domain,
that's why I say 'management').   System is at upper limit of
performance.

What is currently available in the same tier, at improved
performance?   I have the 'HP3000 Server Performance Chart' from
Computer Solutions but it gives no indication (to me) of tier.
