Hmmmmm. What's implied is that God stopped the rotation of the earth. This
description of the event (in a narrative section of the Bible) is what the
Israelites experienced.
In fact, I think this section of the Bible is probably the inspiration for
the movie, "The Day The Earth Stood Still".
