On our HP3000/918, the LANIC has both an AUI and a ThinLan connector.
Right now we are using the ThinLan connector, but as part of our
"Exterminate 10Base2" project, we want to switch over to the AUI
(by putting a 10BaseT transceiver on it and connecting directly to
our hub). I've called the HPRC and they said it is relatively
easy to change the jumper on the LANIC to switch from ThinLan to
the AUI, if I feel comfortable doing it. Well, I've had the
system board out before to install new memory, so I guess now
I'm an expert. :-)

Has anybody changed this jumper? Is it as easy as the HPRC says,
or should I call in the HP service tech and have them do it
(possibly on a T&M basis - I don't know if it would be covered
under our support agreement)?

Thanks.
