Replace Image/sql for Oracle in those articles, and you have my dream of the
future.:-)

Well, maybe a library of sample java objects that do "standard" business
operations using Image/sql as the backend database? With sample Java front
ends? And maybe a Windows "java front end" generator (like V-Plus forms and
formspec)? All designed with the simplicity and clarity that TurboImage
Cobol programmers would appreciate.:-)

Or, maybe this should all be Cobol modules that talk CORBA or maybe they just
do NetIPC, with VB front ends (and front end generator)? Does Java just get
in the way or is it a way to appeal to all the young hot shot programmers to
show that the MPE is "with it" (and cheaper than Oracle for larger systems)?

My thinking on this goes back to all the Cobol programs and programmers that
started with the understandable and simple sample programs that used V-plus
and Image, but which eventually led to some of the best in class applications
available (with some help from a few SPL hot shot programmers...):-)
