This is a SIGMPE item.  As I reported at IPROF, there are no plans to add CI
pipes in the near future.  As Jeff Woods and Glenn Cole have commented,
you can use the shell's pipes to achieve similar results.  There doesn't
seem to be a good return on effort to add CI pipes at this time.
