On Wednesday (7/18) evening in a 1.5 mile long tunnel 50 feet under the
city of Baltimore, Maryland, a train derailed, caught on fire, and reeked
havoc on the Internet all up and down the eastern part of the United States
by melting a major fiber optic cable and a variety of equipment.
Unfortunately, this knocked Tech Group, Tech Group University, the MPE
Certification Track, the "List of Companies that use the HPe3000", and
various other Internet resources off the air until late Saturday evening.
We are happy to report that these resources are back on line now and wish to
extend our apologizes to anybody that was inconvenienced by this outage.
BTW, we wish to thank the many people that called, emailed, and even faxed
to let us know about the outage. Funny sideline - we couldn't read the
email until after the service was restored :)
Thanx,
