Thanks Joe,
It's funny how things work out. I did not do a great job of defining my
original needs, but with some direct communication with one person, I
discovered what I should have seen in the first place - that I could do
exactly what I wanted with the GetSaveAsFilename method. For some reason,
my (sub-conscious) mind was telling me that the GetSaveAsFilename method
would actually try to "save" a file (which I did not want) - so I never
even read the documentation. (And my sub-conscious did not even bother to
explain to me why it assumed that GetSaveAsFilename would try to "save" a
file, but GetOpenFilename would *not* try to open a file. Oh well.)
Anyway, while I like the way GetSaveAsFilename works for my particular
purpose better, I have found several interesting tidbits in your routine
which I have saved and am working on incorporating into this or subsequent
scripts (never used a "UserDialog" before; nor the "'upload" construct).
So I guess I got even more than I asked for - not too common these days,
but most welcome. Thanks again; to you and the others who responded.
