inetd logging problems

I am setting up my 918, running MPE 5.5 pp6, to allow telnet access.  After
streaming JINETD.NET.SYS, I have no problem establishing a telnet
connection to the HP.  However, when I try to enable logging by entering
'INETD.NET -l" from MANAGER.SYS, I have real problems establishing a telnet
connection.  When I bring up Reflection, it says it is accessing the HP via
TELNET, but I don't see a host prompt for over a full minute.  When I
disable logging, I get a host prompt immediately.

Any ideas about why this happening?
