Hello,

If your are like most people who print checks on a Laserjet, you only
put enough checks for your run or you insert and the remove the checks
when done.  This message usually indicates the printer is out-of-paper
or offline.

It could be happening just because of the way you are handling the
printer.  I think there is a way to turn the message off, but I
wouldn't advise it and I don't think it sounds important enough to
try.
