Hi Greg,

i caught the back up to disk portion of your original message. If you have
MPEX, the solution is simple as MPEX will let the AM user copy the data
base to another group.

Another thought would be to give the users access to a job running from
OPERATOR.SYS (or some such) and have that job backup just their files. If
it's going to tape then you probably need an operator involved anyway.

Finally, if all else fails there used to be a couple utilities that allow
the manager (AM) to copy the data base around (DBCOPY comes to mind).

Just some ideas from a burned out mind.

hope this helps!

That's the rub. Both OP and PM give more than I really want. With OP,
all party's data is vulnerable, period. Any competent operator could
access any data. At least you have to know a thing or two to hack rights
from PM. So which is worse? That's one reason why I want to it BA only,
to leave the audit trails. Something about the knowledge that someone
could be watching...

If SYS is on the system volume set, and the account is on another, that
does not matter? What is UV for?

I am using TurboStore. How is that making a difference?

I have a call in to HPRC on the next problem. I am storing to disc. I
can do this just fine as SM, but under my batch id for STORE (CAP:
OP,UV,BA,PM), after the store runs, there store file does not exist! The
target group is R,A,L,X:GU;W,S:ANY. I have tried ;SAVE on the file
equation (at HPRC's recommendation) to no avail. Does STORE need L, or
A?
