Sorry about the mistaken post - this one is complete (I hope).

Rodolfo Lopez wants to know:

We have 1 Directory, 1 Software Manager with 2 programmer/analysts,
1 technical services manager (me), 1 PC software support/secertary,
1 technician (does pbx, telephone, data comm, and pc hardware), and
1 full-time and 2 part-time operators, plus misc. student helpers.

We are adding: 1 Network/Netware specialist, 1 systems programmer (unix/pc/etc)
and 1 secretary.

We have: 1 hp3000-967, 1 hp3000-918 (for development), 1 hp9000-730,
1 att 3b2/1000, 8 netware servers of various kinds, and a growing lan.
Approx. 200 PCs are on the lans so far - we will be doubling that, at
least by next year, and many more stand-alone. There are still 20 or 30
terminals and another 100+ PCs w/terminal emulation that are connected
serially to the DTCs. We are adding 1 hp9000-K400 to provide an internal
and external Web server, OpenMail, and instructionally related stoarge
for multi-media objects, and Lotus Notes -- this is part of a major
push to provide academic support for courseware and Internet publishing.
We have 600+ employees and 3500+ students - and growing.
I left out the 2 Rohm pbxs...

ON the 3000, we do powerhouse and cobol development for almost all of
our administrative systems (registrar, fin. aid, GL, AR, development,
admisssions and recruitment, and many smaller offices), AP is MCBA, but
we will eventually replace it with our own, HR is a customized purchased
powerhouse solution (I forget the vendor, sorry), and we have the VTLS
library automation system. The 3b2 is used for computer science - it will
eventually be replaced with an hpux box. The 730 is doing our Internet
stuff for now, but will be replaced by the new K400 when it is ready.
We run 2 student labs, 1 faculty lab, 2 classrooms w/PCs on netware
networks; adding 2 new labs, and 2 classrooms - more soon; and moving
everyone to the lan as time goes by. I'm sure I left out a lot...

We too are badly understaffed and backlogged - and the new staff will help,
but we are expanded services rapidly - so I think we will stay
understaffed. I hope we can implement streamlined procedures and
more vendor service contracts to reduce the load on our staff, but ...
Our "users" will have to make do for themselves more and more - we
just will provide the tools and the running systems...

HTH - I'm interested in other's replys too.
