I beg to differ. Apache is free, and the last statistic I read indicated Apache
runs more than 60% of the web sites on the Internet. Putty is free, QCTerm,
freevt3k, sendmail, exim, ssh, sftp, OpenOffice, Linux (various flavors
including gentoo) Firefox, Netscape, IE, Eudora, Pegasus, Xnews, and on and
on.... Check sourceforge for thousands more that are free, and a very large
number of the software packages that are free are also good.
