As far as I recall, there is no SSH server for MPE/iX,
because there were technical difficulties porting it.
However, someone did port STUNNEL, which can be used
for a related purpose, as far as I understand (e.g. run
stunnel on MPE to ssh into that and get "proxied" to
a local telnet or NS/VT connection). Maybe the HP3000-L
archives on Raven or newsgroup archives at Google can
provide details from older discussions.
I also seem to recall that Minisoft and WRQ had some
web based terminal emulation products (Minisoft Javelin
or Reflection EnterView) that had an option to use some
kind of encrypted traffic over the wire (SSL or alike),
talking to a custom "proxy server", which was implemented
in pure Java and could thus be run on the 3000 or some
"auxiliary" machine.
