Actually HP would probably agree to sell to him, but with certain
conditions attached:

1) Documentation and source program comments would be stripped out.
2) He would be prohibited from hiring former HP employees for 10 years.
3) He would not be allowed to market to current or former HP customers.
4) He would not be allowed to sell the rights to MPE to anyone else.

Price: The above package would be in exchange for all of his HP stock.

HP would make this an exclusive arrangement to protect Walter's prospects.
