John Hornberger wrote of the Amish:

>influence on their culture. From where I live I can see that decent
>peace-loving people CANNOT be turned into cold-blooded murderers if they
>truly have God in their hearts.

>In conclusion, I don't buy for a moment these other cultures' claims that
>the Western world has corrupted them. They are just using it as an excuse
>for their deplorable behavior.

And yet I remember reading not too long ago (last year?) about the rise of
drug
addictions (specifically to heroine) among the Amish.

My point being that the Amish are human and are just as corruptable as any
other people. This is not to disagree with John, but rather to say that
there is no "group" of humans incapable of being corrupted. Religion,
faith,
morals, corruptability, etc. These are all INDIVIDUALISTIC traits. No
group
is incorruptable. Any man, woman or child can be, I suppose.

I'm reminded of a line from the movie "Men in Black" that goes something
like
"A person is smart. People are dumb, scared and spookable."

my thoughts, no one else's.
