Donna,

The restore worked, it just took 24 hours....

Just to let you (and everyone else know). 150,000 is more than FILECNT or FILECNT2 can handle... It give a strange error message

  ** File Counter version X.01 **
Cannot write to the stdlist file (CIERR 9166)
End of output file reached. Some output may have been lost. (CIERR 9445)

danger! mpe's file system begins melting most horribly when you get
more than 40-50k 'things' (eg, files) in a directory (eg, group).

i strongly recommend getting these files split into different groups or
directories. you'll want to do this splitting via restores.

don't attempt to purge these files (eg, purge @.group.account), it
won't work. don't attempt to purge the files backwards either. the
only way to deal with the problem is to purge the group.

there's a script on jazz (filecnt, maybe?) that will count the number
of files in a directory location. for big systems, the use of this
script is a must.

been there...reloaded a whole system... - d
