The problem here is that the command
:remote altjob job=![HPLASTJOB];INPRI=8
is resolving the variable HPLASTJOB 1st on the local machine, before issuing
the command to the remote
machine.

Your job would have do change to
!remote
#altjob job=![HPLASTJOB];INPRI=8
!
