Has anyone ever encountered a situation here Telnet connections 'suddenly
stop working'.

'All of a sudden' telnet connections on a client site do not appear to work.

When either using Reflections (or TELNET.ARPA.SYS to test the client/server
ON the HP) on a v7.01 system, all that is returned is the mpe/ix prompt and
then the connection hangs. The user cannot type in hello etc. The service
has been restarted but to no avail.

The INETD deamon is running and the stdlist shows the service has been
started on port 23, other connections via NS/VT work ok, but for some
strange reason telnet comms fail. Even tried Telnet(ing) from a PC but
again only get the mpe/ix and then freezes. It may be a wider network issue
but I was hoping it may ring the odd bell.

This may get escalated to HP support, a reboot is in progress, but its a
quick question to the list for any pointers.

TIA
