Well, if your system has Image/SQL instead of plain TurboIMAGE (you
have programs like IMAGESQL and ISQL in that case), you could also try
using the ISQL command "UNLOAD TO EXTERNAL" to get flat files...
http://docs.hp.com/en/36216-90095/ch04s28.html
Using SUPRTOOL, however, might be easier and faster.
If you have Image/SQL, you might also have the free HP ODBC driver on
the system. However, doing extensive reporting and moving lots of data
via ODBC would probably not the most efficient approach.
While talking about free utilities to export an Image database to
flat files (essentially comma separated values), you could also try
the DBEXPORT program for Eloquence...
http://www.hp-eloquence.com/download/B0710/mpe/
http://www.hp-eloquence.com/support/B0710/doc/migration/index.html
The resulting export files are normally used to populate an Eloquence
database on Unix, Linux or Windows and then use the Eloquence Language,
a Business Basic dialect, or other tools/languages to access it. The
free "personal edition", however, is only good for small databases like
50 MB or somesuch. (The DBEXPORT tool does not have that limit).
On the other hand, using SUPRTOOL and STEXPORT you should also be able
to create comma/tab-separated export files with fairly moderate effort.
