No, I have Samba running, it's just slower than molasses in January when
editing files from the 3K on my PC (at least Notepad / WordPad / Word are).
Plus, I'd really like to stay away from a proprietary solution that requires
Windows.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Like I wrote (earlier or later) it looks like
"tab" characters are stuck in the source.
