Wirt spews a premise:
> The rise of evangelicism connotes a simultaneous rise in
> anti-intellectualism.
Sounds like blanket correllation of two unrelated topics
couched in prejudice.
Then he justifies it with another blanket statement:
> ... The central tenet of evangelicism is
> biblical literacy and inerrancy ...
Odd, isn't the central tenet of evangelism to evangelize,
regardless of one's Christian denomination or doctrine?
e.g.e Catholic, Baptist, Mormon, JWs, Presbyterians,
Methodists, Unitarians, etc.?
(Not all the above examples are that keen on biblical
literalness and inerrancy, yet all practice some sort
of evangelism.)
