Patron?

That might be the best, since HP 3000 clients seem to be patrinized.

Greg queried...

How about "Champion", "Advocate", or "Proponent"...

All of these carry the connotation of someone "arguing on behalf of..."
which is exactly what such a person would do. We have to get a message
out - not just market the machine and o/s. The message is well founded by
now...

"The HP e3000 and MPE/iX is alive, robust, and ready for the world of
e-business!"

However, I would not want this person to be a "marketing guru". Such a
champion would have to be someone who is technically savvy enough to be able
to discuss with the gurus of prospective companies the advantages of the HP
e3000 over newer, sexier, latest-fad machines and operating systems. This
person would also have to be able to communicate equally well with company
boards, executives, IT personnel (and probably even end users)...

Any takers?

Glenn
