Mike,

We have been using Vista Plus, server/client version, for almost a year now
and after a shaky start things have settled down. The users, the ones that
can get to it, like it so much that they have requested that we make sure
and install it on a new site that we are about to take over.
As I said above the start was kind of shaky because of the drain it
caused on our system, we have a 967 and the machine came to practically a
halt during user training as eight users were performing simultaneous
searches. In order to lessen its impact on our CPU we got the Unix
version, placed it on a SUN machine and configured our users to access the
SUN for their searches. We did not set up a background monitor job but
rather modified the existing jobs that created the reports to also 'push'
them to the SUN machine, using NBSpool.

Quest does not yet have a client for the MAC platform and thus our MAC
users still use the MPE version but in character mode.

Good luck

Paul H. Christidis

Hi all,
I've been looking at a couple of on-line report viewers and would
appreciate any experiences / recommendations you have to share.
About a year ago, I tried a demo of Monarch by DataWatch and now I'm test
driving Vista Plus from Quest.
I'd rather not get ads from dealers, but actual working experiences if
possible.

Thanks
-Mike-
